Spread
If you're primarily a fan, tell your friends about Thunderbird, feel free to buy cool gear from the Mozilla Store, and just enjoy the software! If you want to join the conversations about new features or need troubleshooting advice, check out the MozillaZine forums. You can also post questions in the "mozilla.support.thunderbird" newsgroup, available on Mozilla's news server, or via the web, using Google Groups. It is also available as a mailing list. Please read the Mozilla Forum Etiquette page before posting.
Develop
If you're an open source developer (or want to become one), and you have an itch to scratch, or want to tackle some bugs, start with the Mozilla Developer Center. If you want to meet the developers currently working on thunderbird, you can find us on IRC (irc.mozilla.org, #maildev), or on our mailing list/newsgroup mozilla.dev.apps.thunderbird (also available as a Google group).
If you have open source technology that you think it would make sense to integrate with Thunderbird, consider writing an extension and submitting it to AMO (do tell us about it too!). We sometimes include third-party open source software, but that software has to be under licensing terms that are compatible with the Mozilla tri-licensing policy.
Test
If you're interested in testing Thunderbird and want to participate in beta tests and join the community of people who get together for "test days", start here. Our QA team consists mostly of volunteers, so your help is not only appreciated but important!
Translate
Thunderbird is currently available in 34 languages. If yours isn't listed here, find out how to become a localizer. We'll soon set up a way to translate this website as well.
Other?
If you want to contribute in other ways, whether through a possible business relationship, through a university course, as a graphic designer, or through any other relationship we may not have thought of yet, write to us at partners at mozillamessaging.com.
